What Traitle stores on your device

Your progress, scores and streak are saved in your own browser (local storage). Clearing your browser data removes them. To let the game work offline, your browser also keeps a copy of the site's files.

How you compare with other players

When you finish today's set, your total score and the puzzle number are sent to our server, without any name, ID or IP address. We only keep a count per 25-point band, so we can show how your score compares with everyone else's. These counts are deleted after 60 days.

Visitor statistics

We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics. It uses no cookies and stores no personal data; we only see totals, such as how many people visited on a day and which country they came from.

Animal photos

Animal photos are loaded from Wikimedia Commons, and the game looks them up through the Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons APIs. Your browser contacts Wikimedia's servers for this, which means Wikimedia sees your IP address, as for any website. See the Wikimedia privacy policy.

Advertising

Traitle may show ads from Google AdSense below your final score. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google asks for your consent before showing personalised ads, through a consent message on the site. You can change your choice at any time via that message. Google's use of data is described at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
